The afternoon was calm and quiet inside the small apartment. Sunlight filtered softly through the window and fell across the table where a curious little hamster named Milo lived in his cozy cage. Milo was known for his endless curiosity.

No matter how small the space or how simple the object, he always wanted to explore it. His tiny nose twitched constantly, and his bright eyes seemed to search for adventure everywhere.
Earlier that day, Miloโs owner had been enjoying a glass of juice and had accidentally left the empty glass on the table next to the cage. The glass was tall, clear, and shiny, reflecting the sunlight in a way that instantly caught Miloโs attention. From inside his cage, he watched it carefully, standing on his hind legs as if studying this mysterious object.
A few minutes later, the cage door was opened so Milo could roam around the table for a short time, something his owner allowed under close supervision. As soon as he stepped out, Milo began his usual exploration, sniffing every corner and walking carefully across the wooden surface.
Before long, his attention returned to the glass. It smelled faintly sweet from the juice that had been inside earlier, and to Milo, that scent was irresistible. He climbed closer, stretching his tiny body to peek inside. The opening of the glass looked wide enough, and curiosity quickly overcame caution.
Without thinking twice, Milo stuck his little head into the glass, trying to reach whatever scent had captured his attention. At first, everything seemed fine. But when he tried to pull his head back out, he realized something was wrong.
His head was stuck.
The smooth sides of the glass made it impossible for him to grip anything, and the narrow shape meant his ears couldnโt easily slide back out the way they had gone in. The tiny hamster began to panic, moving back and forth and squeaking softly in confusion. The glass shifted slightly on the table as he tried to pull away, but it only made things more difficult.
From the outside, it looked almost unbelievableโa tiny hamster with his whole head trapped inside a clear glass cup. His little body wiggled nervously while the glass remained firmly in place around his head.
Luckily, Miloโs owner noticed the strange movement almost immediately. Turning around, they saw the small hamster struggling with the glass and quickly rushed over.
โOh no, Milo!โ they exclaimed gently.
Instead of panicking, they moved slowly and carefully, knowing that sudden movements could frighten the tiny animal even more. They gently held the glass to keep it from sliding off the table while Milo continued to wiggle his body.
โEasyโฆ easyโฆโ they whispered softly, trying to calm him down.
The first step was to make sure Milo stopped struggling so much. With one hand supporting his tiny body and the other holding the glass, they waited a few seconds until the hamsterโs movements slowed down.
Then they had an idea. The problem wasnโt that Miloโs head was too bigโit was that the glass was smooth and tight around his ears. If they could make it easier for the glass to slide, he might come out safely.
They carefully applied a tiny drop of water around the edge of the glass where Miloโs head was stuck. The water helped reduce friction between his fur and the smooth surface of the glass.
After that, they gently tilted the glass downward while holding Miloโs body securely.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then, with a soft little pop, Miloโs head finally slipped free from the glass.
The tiny hamster blinked rapidly, clearly surprised but completely unharmed. He paused for a second as if trying to understand what had just happened, then immediately scurried a few inches away from the mysterious glass that had caused so much trouble.
His owner laughed with relief and gently picked him up, checking to make sure he was okay. Miloโs nose twitched again, and within seconds he was back to his curious self, sniffing around as if the entire experience had been just another strange adventure.
The empty glass, however, was quickly moved far away from the table to prevent another curious investigation.
Moments like this are a reminder of how curious and adventurous small animals can be. Their tiny size and playful nature often lead them into situations they donโt fully understand. But with patience, calm thinking, and gentle care, even tricky problems can be solved safely.
Milo may have learned a small lesson that day about sticking his head into mysterious objects. And his owner certainly learned to keep glasses and containers far away from a hamsterโs reach.
But in the end, everything turned out well.
