Beside a busy highway where vehicles rushed endlessly through the countryside, a heartbreaking scene unfolded near an old stretch of fencing that separated the roadside from a dry open field.

The afternoon sky hung pale and dusty above the road while the constant roar of engines echoed across the landscape.
Cars and heavy trucks passed at high speed, sending bursts of wind and dust across the grass near the shoulder.
Near the damaged fence line, a baby donkey had become trapped.
The young donkey, still small and unsteady compared to a full-grown animal, had somehow wandered too close to a loose section of twisted wire fencing.
What may have begun as simple curiosity quickly turned dangerous when one of its legs slipped through the narrow opening between bent strands of wire.
Now the frightened foal struggled helplessly against the fence.
Its small body twisted anxiously while the wire tightened further around its leg and side with every attempt to escape. The old fencing rattled sharply each time the donkey pulled backward, and dry dirt scattered beneath its hooves as panic took over.
The highway beside it only made the situation worse.
Every passing truck created loud thunderous noise and strong gusts of wind that startled the young animal repeatedly.
Whenever headlights flashed past or engines roared nearby, the donkey reacted instinctively by pulling harder against the wire.
But the tighter it pulled, the more trapped it became.
Its breathing grew faster with exhaustion and fear. The rough metal strands pressed tightly against its fur while loose sections of fencing twisted awkwardly around one back leg.
The surrounding field stretched empty behind it.
Dry grass bent gently in the roadside wind while bits of litter rolled across the shoulder. Yet beside the fence, the young donkeyโs frightened cries cut through the highway noise clearly enough to draw attention from passing drivers.
The foal continued struggling desperately.
At times it managed to step partially forward before the wire snapped it back again. Other moments it froze completely, trembling beside the fence while staring toward the endless stream of speeding traffic.
The situation looked increasingly dangerous.
The damaged fence stood only a short distance from the highway shoulder. If the frightened donkey somehow broke loose suddenly while panicking, it could run directly toward the road.
Several drivers appeared to notice the trapped animal as they passed.
Some slowed briefly, turning their heads toward the fence line before continuing onward. Others stared through windows at the unusual and distressing scene unfolding near the roadside.
Then finally, one vehicle slowed significantly and pulled carefully onto the shoulder ahead.
A person stepped out quickly but cautiously.
The baby donkey noticed the movement immediately and panicked again, pulling violently backward against the fencing. The wire shook loudly while dust rose from the dry ground around its hooves.
The rescuer stopped several feet away first.
A frightened young donkey trapped near active traffic could react unpredictably if approached too suddenly. Calmness and patience became essential.
Heavy trucks continued roaring by nearby while the human assessed the situation carefully.
The wire entanglement appeared painful but manageable. Several bent strands had wrapped around the donkeyโs leg while another section trapped part of its body against the fence posts.
The foal breathed heavily, ears twitching nervously toward both the rescuer and the highway.
The person moved slowly closer, speaking softly to avoid escalating panic.
At first, the donkey attempted to pull away again. But exhaustion had already weakened its movements, and after several moments it paused, trembling but mostly still.
The rescue began carefully.
One hand steadied the loose section of fencing while the other worked slowly at the twisted wire near the trapped leg. The old metal resisted at first, rusted and bent tightly after repeated struggling.
The donkey flinched nervously every time the wire shifted.
But gradually, little by little, the pressure around the trapped leg began easing.
Traffic continued rushing past only meters away.
Wind from passing trucks blew dust and grass against the roadside while the rescuer remained focused entirely on freeing the frightened animal safely.
One section of wire finally loosened enough to slide away from the donkeyโs leg.
The foal immediately tested its movement, stepping awkwardly backward before freezing again in uncertainty.
Another twisted strand still held part of its body against the fence.
The rescuer carefully bent the damaged section outward, creating more space inch by inch. The old fence creaked loudly but slowly gave way.
Then finally, the last tight section released.

The baby donkey stumbled backward free from the wire.
For a brief moment, it nearly lost balance completely before catching itself again on shaky legs. Dust swirled around its hooves as it stood breathing hard, suddenly no longer trapped.
