In the middle of a raging river, with no mother in sight and the current pulling harder by the second, a tiny bear cub clung to a slippery rock cold, soaked, and visibly shaking.
No one knew how it got there.
But everyone watching held their breath.
The cub was losing strength fast.

Park rangers were alerted by a group of hikers who heard faint cries coming from the riverbank.
At first, they thought it was a bird in distress.
