Sometimes, heroes don’t wear capes  and sometimes, they don’t even walk on two legs. Deep beneath the forest floor, a group of moles became the most unexpected saviors of all. It was a misty morning when the school bus began its daily route through a small countryside road surrounded by trees and fields. Children laughed, sang songs, and looked out the windows  unaware of the danger ahead. Recent heavy rains had loosened the soil beneath the narrow bridge crossing a small ravine.
