Easy 4-Ingredient Seed Crackers – Crunchy, Healthy & Delicious!
Looking for a simple, nutritious, and homemade snack? These 4-ingredient seed crackers are incredibly crunchy, satisfying, and packed with healthy fats, fiber, and plant-based protein. Perfect for dipping, topping, or enjoying on their own! Plus, they’re gluten-free, dairy-free, and keto-friendly—a great alternative to store-bought crackers.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
✔ 1 cup flax seeds
✔ 1 cup boiling water
✔ 2 cups mixed raw seeds (I used pumpkin, sunflower, and hemp)
✔ Avocado oil (for greasing and extra crispiness)
✔ Salt (optional) for extra flavor
Instructions:
1️⃣ Prepare the flax mixture: In a medium bowl, add 1 cup of flax seeds and pour over 1 cup of boiling water. Stir well and let it sit for a few minutes while you measure the other seeds. The mixture should become thick and gel-like—this helps bind the crackers together without any flour or eggs!
2️⃣ Mix in the seeds: Once the flax mixture is sticky and slightly gelatinous, add 2 cups of mixed raw seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, and hemp). If desired, sprinkle in a little salt for extra flavor. Stir everything until well combined.
3️⃣ Prepare the baking sheet: Lightly grease a half-sheet pan with avocado oil. Line it with parchment paper, then drizzle a little more avocado oil over the parchment paper, spreading it evenly to prevent sticking.
4️⃣ Spread the mixture: Transfer the cracker mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out into a very thin, even layer using a spatula or the back of a spoon. The thinner the layer, the crispier the crackers will be!
5️⃣ Add a finishing touch: Brush the top of the mixture with a little more avocado oil for added crispiness. Sprinkle with flaky salt if you’d like.
6️⃣ Bake to perfection:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-22 minutes, or until the edges start turning golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and turn the oven off. Let the crackers sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then place them back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes. This helps them get perfectly golden and crispy without burning.
7️⃣ Cool & break apart: Once baked, let the crackers cool completely before removing them from the pan. Break them into pieces and enjoy with dips, cheese, nut butter, or on their own!
Tips for the Best Seed Crackers:
✅ Thin & even is key! A thinner layer ensures maximum crunch. If you have extra mixture, use a second baking sheet.
✅ Customize your seeds! Feel free to swap in chia seeds, sesame seeds, or any other favorite seeds.
✅ Storage: Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week to maintain their crispiness.
These homemade flax seed crackers are a great snack to have on hand—whether you’re meal prepping, looking for a healthy on-the-go option, or simply craving a crunchy treat!
