Beneath the home, a tunnel network awaited, stretching under the neighboring properties. Over the next two hours, officers unearthed three former inmates hiding underground, plotting a covert escape from the city.
The fugitives had been quietly digging by night, trying to avoid detection—but Mia’s sharp ears overheard every scrape. Their capture was swift, and thanks to her bravery, Mia now sleeps soundly again.
