The first light of dawn filtered through the forest clearing, painting the grass with a soft golden glow. Morning mist drifted lazily between the trees, and the sounds of chirping birds echoed through the peaceful countryside.
Near the edge of the woods stood an old farmhouse surrounded by wildflowers, vegetable gardens, and a collection of small shelters where chickens, ducks, and peacocks freely wandered.
Life on the little farm usually followed a gentle rhythm.
The hens scratched through the dirt in search of seeds. A proud peacock named Azure spent much of his day wandering near the flower beds, occasionally displaying his brilliant feathers whenever the sunlight struck them just right.
Nearby, several hens carefully guarded their nests inside a wooden coop protected from the weather.
But perhaps the most unusual resident of all was a young bear cub.
The little bear had been found alone months earlier and had gradually become familiar with the peaceful animals around the property.
Though still curious and playful, the cub had developed an odd habit of following the chickens around the yard. Instead of frightening them, he seemed fascinated by them.
He would sit quietly nearby and watch as they pecked at the ground, occasionally tilting his head with endless curiosity.
The hens had grown accustomed to his presence.
And strangely enough, so had Azure the peacock.
At first, the colorful bird had kept his distance, watching the furry newcomer carefully. But over time, the peacock and the cub developed a strange understanding.
Azure often walked beside the young bear during morning strolls around the farm, while the cub seemed endlessly entertained by the shimmering feathers trailing behind his unusual companion.
Their friendship became one of the farm’s quiet wonders.
One cool spring morning, however, something unexpected happened.
Azure had chosen a hidden corner beneath a flowering bush where one of his peahens had laid several precious eggs. The nest was carefully tucked among tall grass and protected from strong winds. Everything appeared peaceful.
Until a sudden rainstorm swept across the area.
Strong winds bent branches and scattered leaves everywhere. One large branch fell close to the hidden nest, startling the birds and causing confusion throughout the yard. By the time the storm passed, one of the eggs had rolled away from the nest and come to rest several feet away near the vegetable garden.
Azure paced nervously.
He called repeatedly while examining the disturbed nesting area. The peahen remained close to the remaining eggs, unwilling to leave them exposed.
Not far away, a brown hen named Daisy sat quietly on her own nest inside a sheltered corner of the coop. She had become famous among the other birds for her calm nature. Nothing seemed to disturb her for long.
Meanwhile, the curious bear cub wandered through the yard as he always did.
Sniffing flowers.
Examining butterflies.
Investigating everything.
As he approached the garden, something caught his attention.
An egg.
The small object rested alone in the grass.
The cub tilted his head.
He had seen eggs before. He had watched Daisy carefully protect hers and had often sat nearby observing the chickens. Though he understood little about the world, he had learned that eggs were treated with great importance.
Very carefully, the cub lowered his nose toward the lost egg.
He sniffed it.
Then sat down.
Azure noticed immediately.
The peacock froze.
His bright eyes fixed on the scene.
The bear cub stretched one paw forward, touching the egg so gently that it barely moved. Then, in a motion so delicate that even the watching birds seemed surprised, he carefully nudged the egg across the soft grass.
Slowly.
Patiently.
Step by step.
The cub continued rolling the egg, stopping frequently to make sure it didn’t move too quickly.
But the original nest beneath the bush had become partially flooded by rainwater. The peahen remained anxious beside the remaining eggs, unable to relocate them herself.
The bear cub paused.
Nearby sat Daisy’s nest.
Warm.
Dry.
Protected.
The hen watched with calm eyes.
The cub approached carefully and, with astonishing gentleness, guided the egg toward the edge of Daisy’s nesting area.
The hen blinked.
Azure watched.
Even the ducks nearby seemed to stop moving.
Daisy studied the strange visitor.
Instead of panicking, she shifted slightly and made room beneath her feathers.
The cub sat down beside the nest and looked at the hen.
Daisy clucked softly.
And to everyone’s surprise, she settled over the unfamiliar egg along with her own.
From that day forward, something remarkable developed.
Every morning, the little bear visited Daisy’s nest.

It became a strange routine.
