this isn’t your average “breadstick”—it has some plant-based protein and is packed with fiber, and essential nutrients.
quinoa is a complete protein, meaning it has all nine essential amino acids, making this extra satisfying.
plus, with dairy-free cheese, you can customize it to fit your dietary needs while still getting that delicious melty goodness.
choosing your dairy-free cheese
there are so many great options for vegan cheese that melt beautifully on this. here are a few favorites:
- violife shredded mozzarella – creamy, mild, and melts like a dream
- miyoko’s cashew mozzarella – a slightly richer, tangy option with great texture
- daiya cutting board blend – melts well and has a classic cheese flavor
how to make the “breadsticks”
- prep the quinoa: soak 1 1/4 cups uncooked quinoa in hot water for 30-45 minutes, then drain.
- blend the base: in a high-speed food processor or blender, combine the soaked quinoa, 3/4 cup vegetable broth, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, and 1/2 tbsp everything but the bagel seasoning. blend until smooth.
- bake the breadsticks: pour the batter into a greased 8×8-inch pan and spread evenly. bake at 375°f for 12 minutes until set.
- add the cheese: remove from the oven, sprinkle with 3/4 cup dairy-free shredded cheese, and bake for another 10 minutes until melted.
- finish it off: sprinkle with more everything but the bagel seasoning before serving.
storage tips
if you have leftovers (which is rare because these are so good!), store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
to reheat, pop them in the oven at 350°f for a few minutes or warm them up in a skillet for a slightly crispy edge.
enjoy these cheesy, and savory breadsticks as a snack, side, or base for your favorite dips!
