The courtroom benches were filled with people waiting for their hearings some nervous, some tired, some impatient. Lawyers flipped through folders, officers stood by the walls, and the judge moved through cases at a steady pace.
Among the crowd sat a young boy beside his mother. She looked anxious, clutching a file of documents. The boy was calm, but observant—his eyes absorbed everything happening around him.
Their case was scheduled for later in the morning, involving a dispute that had brought stress to their family for months. The mother hoped quietly that the judge would understand her situation.

“Yes, son? Did you want to say something?” he asked kindly, though surprised.

The mother covered her mouth, tears welling.
